Matt Woosey has been performing in bands around the West Midlands since the turn of the millennium.

He first came to the attention of the music scene with Taxi, a band from Malvern achieving great success locally, with interest from industry and venues alike.

He recently came off tour, which he has organised himself, of 100 gigs in 100 days, from Cornwall to Edinburgh.

Matt says the most enjoyable aspect of the non-stop tour is the variation in the venues which he plays, from boat clubs to folk clubs, from people's living rooms to major festival gigs.

For the most part he plays solo, delivering his self-penned songs with power and intensity.

His blues-influenced and introspective style of writing and playing is occasionally boosted with the addition of his band, The Strange Rain.

The band features Gary Curtiss on bass and James Elliot-Williams on drums, who create a whole new atmosphere for the performance of the songs, with a heavy emphasis on improvisation and jamming.
