Pendle Heritage Centre

Situated beside an ancient crossing of Pendle Water, this group of attractive Listed Grade II farm buildings and walled garden, only a mile from the M65, offers the ideal day out for the whole family, and the perfect base from which to explore the Pendle area either on foot or by car. Discover the origins of the ancient farmhouse known as Park Hill, which has been carefully restored using traditional building skills to provide visitors with a vivid insight of how this historic house has developed and been adapted from the 1400s to the present day, showing the architectural styles of each period. The main exhibitions are in the old part of the house which still evokes the atmosphere of the 17th century.

Gawthorpe Hall

A unique Elizabethan Hall with original features such as elaborate plasterwork and oak panelling from the period, as well as displaying the opulence of a Victorian aristocratic home that was remodelled by Sir Charles Barry in the 19th century.听 The display of National Portrait Gallery paintings and the Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth Textile collection add to the atmosphere and historical connections in the Hall.听 A famous figure who came to visit the family in the 1850s was Charlotte Bronte.

The Harris Museum and Art Gallery

Queen Street Mill
