A 'cool' podcast for staying safe online

Our new Amharic-language podcast is a guide to all things digital

Our Ethiopia team has launched a new podcast series to help improve people’s digital media literacy - Le'Arada.

Arada (አራዳ) is an Amharic word with many meanings, including cool, active, swag and woke! The podcast is designed to appeal to the types of 'cool’ and active people who use the digital world.

The series is hosted by two young presenters, Newal Abubeker and Kirubel Shiferaw, and features young professionals and experts providing reliable and accurate information about the digital world, tips that audiences can use to stay safe while navigating, learning and working online, and sharing relatable personal experiences. Episodes are 30-45 minutes each and cover topics such as online misinformation and disinformation, responsible use of social and digital media, information security and privacy and digital safety and wellbeing. Laughter, insightful information, personal experience and quizzes are woven together and presented in a lively discussion.

Le'Arada is hosted on Acast and is available on , , , , , , , , Samsung,  and  (all links lead to third-party sites). It is also available on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Media Action Ethiopia’s ,  and  pages. If you speak Amharic, subscribe and be a part of our Arada community!
