A man has appeared in court accused of driving offences after a police officer was hit by a vehicle in Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police said the officer was struck in the Girlington area of the city on Monday.

Zain Iqbal, 28, from Leeds, is charged with attempted wounding, dangerous driving and failing to stop and appeared at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Mr Iqbal, of Ridgeway, Roundhay, was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 11 December.
