A 19-year-old motorcyclist has died in a crash in Paignton.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the motorcyclist, a local man, died at the scene.

The force said emergency services were called to Brixham Road at about 07:35 GMT on Tuesday.

Police said his next of kin had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers.

Police said: "Witnesses are being sought by police after a motorcyclist died in a fatal single vehicle collision in Paignton.

"Local officers and roads policing officers attended the scene and conducted a thorough investigation.

"The road was closed for several hours whilst the investigation took place."
