A 91-year-old woman died after she was found entangled in barbed wire, an inquest has heard.
A multi-agency search was launched after Adele Edwards was reported missing from her home in Meadowbank, Llanfair Talhaiarn, near Abergele on the evening of 28 May.
Ms Edwards, who had dementia, was found the following evening in a field outside the village, but later died from her injuries.
John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, told the inquest in Ruthin that she was suffering from hypothermia and had been bleeding heavily.
Mrs Edwards, a retired nurse, was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital but died on 12 June.
The cause of death was given as an infection in her leg wound.
The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
