A city's CCTV upgrade will go ahead after a council agreed to 拢25,000 additional funding.
Salisbury City Council granted the money to volunteer-run Salisbury CCTV, which operates the city's cameras.
In addition to a system upgrade, four new deployable CCTV cameras will also be introduced following a successful council bid to the government's Safer Street Funding.
The installation of the new software, which will allow operators to work more effectively, is due to take place in May.
Recording 24 hours a day, there are currently 64 cameras across the city which are monitored by Salisbury CCTV's control room.
The recordings provide vital evidence and intelligence to local partners, including the police, ShopWatch and PubWatch.
Salisbury CCTV is jointly funded by the city council and Salisbury Business Improvement District (BID).
