A teenager who was killed in a car crash died of severe head injuries, a coroner has said.
Joshua Lloyd Roberts, 19, from Caernarfon, Gwynedd, died at the scene at Ffordd Waunfawr in Caeathro on Friday.
An inquest into the death of the Cardiff Metropolitan University student was opened on Wednesday.
A 19-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision and failing to report a collision has been released on bail.
Senior coroner for north-west Wales, Katie Sutherland, said Mr Roberts died from severe head injuries.
She adjourned the hearing due to the ongoing police inquiry.
Paying tribute to Mr Roberts, his family previously said he was a "happy, outgoing" man who 鈥渉ad time for everyone".
They added that he was a passionate football fan who enjoyed travelling and was "devoted to all his family".
