Community groups interested in planting a mini orchard have until 27 September to apply for funding.

South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) said up to 拢1,500 is available to plant a minimum of five fruit trees on publicly accessible sites.

The funding is via the Coronation Living Heritage fund that marked the accession of King Charles III to the throne.

Planting is expected to start in November, with all projects to be completed, together with dedication services, by the end of March 2025.

The Coronation Living Heritage Fund is 拢2.5 million government fund to support local tree planting initiatives to commemorate the coronation.

SKDC said it would particularly like parent/teacher associations to apply for the funding.
