A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a woman in Glasgow city centre.
James McCrindle, 53, allegedly assaulted and killed Sandie Butler, 40, in the Townhead area on 29 October.
Court papers said Mr McCrindle struggled with Ms Butler and "struck her to the body with a knife or similar implement".
She was found seriously injured on St Mungo Avenue and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Mr McCrindle made no plea to the murder charge during the private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again within eight days.
