No trains at Huddersfield station over weekend
Trains will not run through Huddersfield station on Saturday 8 or Sunday 9 June, as upgrade work continues.
The work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), with diversions and rail replacement buses in place.
Improvements at Huddersfield station include the creation of two new platforms and the extension of existing platforms to improve station capacity.
A TRU spokesperson said the work would bring the station "up to modern standards".
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, other improvements to the station include building a new footbridge and lifts, as well as creating step-free access from the front entrance to improve accessibility.
The station roof is also being restored, and more public toilets will be installed.
The spokesperson said retaining the station's historic features was "of paramount importance".
鈥淭he TRU will bring the station up to modern standards in terms of functionality, without harming its cultural and traditional significance.鈥
The TRU project aims to improve rail connections between northern towns and cities, with more frequent, faster trains and a cleaner, greener railway.
Completion of the project is not expected before 2041.
