Raith Rovers fan joins team at training after assault

A Raith Rovers fan who was assaulted by a group of youths following a match on Tuesday has been presented with a signed shirt by the team's players.

Kieren Ross met his heroes at training and has been invited on the team bus to Saturday's match away to Airdrieonians.

The 18-year-old had been waiting for a bus home following the Fife derby against Dunfermline Athletic on Tuesday when he was attacked.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the assault.

Kieren was presented with a signed shirt in the Raith Rovers changing room during his visit to meet the players, as well as midfielder Dylan Easton鈥檚 boots and goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski鈥檚 gloves.

The an anonymous supporter had also donated a 拢200 club shop voucher to Kieren.

A video showing the violent attack was shared on social media with the group's actions condemned by both Raith and Dunfermline officials.

Kieran can be seen lying on the ground as he is repeatedly punched and kicked by the youths as they shouted slurs.

The teenager's hearing aids fell out during the assault, causing them to break.

Dunfermline Athletic fan club, Section North West, have also condemned the actions of the group and have offered to contribute to the cost of replacing the broken hearing aids.
