Man taken to hospital after being hit by car
A pedestrian was taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries after he was hit by a car near Newquay, police said.
The incident took place on the A3059 at St Columb Major at about 22:00 GMT on Saturday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
The 50-year-old man was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
The driver of the black Nissan Note car involved in the collision was not injured.
The air ambulance and a road ambulance attended the scene, together with officers from police response units and the roads policing team.
Officers thanked members of the public who stopped and helped at the scene.
They have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to call them on 101, quoting log 929 of 16 March.
