Two police officers who were filmed appearing to drive the wrong way down a one-way street to get to a Greggs shop fell below expected standards, their force has said.

Footage, posted on social media, showed the officers exiting their patrol car outside the shop in Bath Street, in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, on Thursday.

They are then seen to leave the shop with a drink before driving off against the flow of other vehicles.

Derbyshire Police said the officers had been spoken to and "given words of advice" in relation to the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We expect our officers and staff to uphold the highest possible standards.

"The actions of the officers fell below that standard and this has been dealt with in a proportionate manner."

The person who filmed the officers told the 成人论坛: "It just really annoyed me. If they'd driven up the road the right way I'd have been fine with it.

"They clearly didn't have any urgent business there.

"Any other driver would have got a fine and points for flouting a one-way route.

"Police should enforce the rules not break them."
