A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after human remains were found at a property in Kent.

The woman, aged 50, was arrested on Thursday when police discovered the remains at a house in St Martin’s Road, Canterbury.

Kent Police said that while officers continue to confirm the identity of the body, the family of missing 65-year-old Jeremy Rickards have been informed.

Mr Rickards was reported missing on 5 July. He had not been seen since the beginning of June.

The force said officers will remain in the St Martin’s Road area while the investigation continues.
