The Bridgnorth annual duck race has been called off, due to unsafe river conditions.
It comes as heavy rain and thunder are forecast in the town on Sunday afternoon.
Organisers Bridgnorth Lions said it would be too risky, as volunteers needed to be in the river for it to go ahead.
It added that the race would be rescheduled in the coming weeks.
The event has been running since 2019 and coincides with the town's carnival, seeing more than 1,000 yellow rubber ducks released into the River Severn to race to a finish line.
Members of the public pay a small fee and are assigned a duck with a number on it. The money is donated to local causes.
