Police have launched an appeal for information after two knifepoint robberies at the same petrol station.

The Shell Service Station, in Carlton Road, Nottingham, was targeted on 15 and 31 December, police said.

On each occasion, a man with his face covered threatened staff with a knife and demanded cash and tobacco products.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the robberies.

Nottinghamshire Police said the suspect entered the petrol station before 07:30 GMT on both occasions.

He forced staff to hand over cash and large amounts of tobacco products, which he loaded into a black rucksack before leaving the scene, police added.

He stole 拢187 in cash and about 拢4,350 in tobacco, vapes and cigarettes in the first raid and a further 拢300 in cash and about 拢6,000 in tobacco products during the second one.

Det Con Anabelle Lee said no-one was hurt but added the robber had "terrified staff and left a very lasting impression on them".

She added: "One female staff member was traumatised by this incident.

"No-one should have to go to work in our city and be threatened with this level of violence and fear for their lives.

"We believe both of these incidents are connected. We are following a number of lines of inquiry including forensic opportunities."
