Hullbridge death inquiry suspect wanted by police

A "dangerous" man is wanted by police after another man died from a brain injury following a robbery.

Timothy Smith, 57, fell heavily on to a low level wall during the attack at The Drive, Hullbridge, on 19 March. He died two days later.

Andrew McVicar, 33, from Basildon, is wanted on suspicion of murder, robbery and possession of a firearm.

A man has been charged with robbery and another is being held on suspicion of murder, robbery and firearm possession.

Det Insp Daniel Stoten, of Essex Police, said: "I need to speak to Mr McVicar in connection with this incident and urge him to come forward before we catch up with him.

"He's a dangerous individual and should not be approached."

Mr McVicar is described as white, 5ft 9ins (175cm) tall, bald, of stocky build. He has a Scottish accent and tattoos on his forearms which read 'honour' and 'pride'.

Essex Police said he is believed to have links to the Luton area in Bedfordshire.

Officers charged a 50-year-old man from Southend with robbery on Saturday.

The second man, a 28-year-old from Basildon, has been detained in custody.
