A former Norfolk vicar has been charged with a sexual offence dating back to the 1990s.
Reverend Canon Michael Woods, 79, is alleged to have committed indecent assault with a male aged 16 or over.
The charge relates to allegations between August 1997 and August 1999. He has not yet indicated a plea.
Mr Woods, who retired in 2009 and now lives in Kuching in Malaysia, is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on 26 March.
He served as Rector of Great Yarmouth for 17 years.
Norfolk Constabulary said Mr Woods was not extradited to the UK, but was charged while he was visiting Norfolk.
The Diocese of Norwich has been approached for comment.
