Firefighters tackle blaze in east Belfast

A fire at a derelict building in east Belfast is being treated as arson.

It took 19 firefighters, using four fire engines and one aerial ladder platform, about eight hours to extinguish the blaze.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it received a call to the junction between the Circular Road and the Holywood Road at 20:49 BST on Tuesday.

Sgt Anne McCourt said anyone with any information should contact the police at Strandtown PSNI Station.
