M4 five-vehicle crash at Swansea leaves two in hospital
Two people are in hospital after a five-vehicle crash partially shut the M4 motorway at Swansea, causing major Friday evening rush-hour congestion.
One man was cut from a vehicle by fire crews using hydraulic cutting equipment after the incident near the Ynysforgan turn-off, junction 45, at 17:30 GMT.
The westbound carriageway of the M4 was shut for almost three-and-a-half hours, causing an eight-mile traffic jam.
South Wales Police reopened the carriageway just before 21:00.
The two casualties were taken to the nearby Morriston Hospital in Swansea following the collision.
