Caerphilly: Man charged with taking protected bird after swan attack
A man has been charged with taking a protected wild bird after a swan was filmed being dragged through a park by its neck.
The 35-year-old, from Caerphilly, is in custody and is to appear at Newport Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Gwent Police said: "He was arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal."
An arrest was made after officers searched near Caerphilly Castle as they tried to find the suspect.
He is alleged to have committed the offence on on 3 December.
