Football fans won't recognise the Carrow Road stadium by the time they sit down to watch Elton John perform on Sunday night. Truck-loads of scaffolding, plastic panels and seating have arrived at the stadium and the road crew has just two days to turn it into an arena fit for one of the rock world's best known names. Tight schedule Site organiser 'Wolfie' told 成人论坛 Norfolk it's a tight schedule. "What we do is we present a full stadium that you find in an arena such as the NEC or Wembley but we've built it here," he said. "We have to get it ready for Sunday morning when the rest of Sir Elton's stage set, including his famous piano, arrive on site. "So it's like a show day for them. They arrive with their eight trucks, do the show and move on to somewhere else. "But it's not an arena, it's a football club so we have to build an arena in a football club. "It takes a lot of planning and the club and the council have been very helpful and it will all come to fruition on Sunday night when they'll all be rocking in front of Sir Elton," he said.听 Concerns for pitch More than 20,000 fans will fill the stand, and many of them will be on seats installed on the pitch for the occasion. But they needn't worry about the pitch being damaged. "We have a big aluminium track which protects the pitch and supports the 35-tonne crane we're using to lift the stage in place, said Wolfie. "We cover the pitch with white plastic tiles which the seats go on and it actually still allows the grass to grow beneath it. So, anyone worried about their beloved pitch shouldn't have to." Delia's dishes Wolfie and the crew have been enjoying some Norfolk hospitality at Carrow Road and they've even been treated to some meals from Norwich City director Delia Smith. "Normally we carry our own catering crew which cooks for us but on this occasion we have Delia Smith's catering company cooking for us," said Wolfie. "I had breakfast here and lunch and they were great.I'm looking forward to dinner. So, she's cooking for us all the time we're here," he added. |
