The programme is hosting a gig at Norwich Arts Centre on Friday, 10 October, 2008. For 10 months ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing has taken over the airwaves every Friday night from 7 to 8pm with a cherry-picked selection of tracks from the county’s hottest acts. Now the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio Norfolk show is stepping out of the studio to bring local music lovers a night of live sounds at Norwich Arts Centre on Friday, 10 October, 2008. ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing will present a line-up of some of its favourite bands, which it has discovered since launching on the station in December 2007. Norwich's The Lost Levels will headline the night with a cascade of atmospheric pop, while the upbeat sounds of The Great Shakes and teen indie-popsters The Lidi Berlins will also fill the main room. Norwich Arts Centre - Friday, 10 October In the bar, Norwich hip-hop act DPF will perform a set crammed with witty lyrics, taken from his latest album that garnered rave reviews from a pile of publications including Hip-Hop Connection. Also in the bar, Norwich purveyors of fast and furious pop The Kabeedies will man the decks for a DJ set, taking a well-earned break from the stage for a night after a busy few months. Recently they've recorded a Maida Vale session for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing and Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and played in Glastonbury's Introducing tent after being nominated for a set by the show. The gig is being held as part of the John Peel Day celebrations, with the legendary broadcaster a keen champion of Norwich Arts Centre. ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing producer Gary Standley said he's delighted to be able to host a night of live music to complement the radio show. The Kabeedies' Katie Allard "It's the first time we've planned a live show of this scale and we hope as many of our listeners as possible will turn out to support these bands at the gig," he said. "As we've found out while working on this show for the past 10 months, there are so many superb bands out there in Norfolk – something that Radio 1 has acknowledged. "We think the acts on the bill are just a tantalising taste of some of the top rate music being produced here," he added. Tickets are £4 in advance and available from Norwich Arts Centre on 01603 660352 or £5 on the door. Doors open at 8pm and there's a late bar. ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing goes out between 7pm and 8pm every Friday on 95.1, 95.6 and 104.4FM, DAB and online at bbc.co.uk/norfolkYou can also listen again for seven days after broadcast via the website.last updated: 30/09/2008 at 15:38 SEE ALSOYou are in: Norfolk > Entertainment > Music & Clubbing > Introducing > ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Norfolk Introducing takes show on the road Norfolk Introducing
