REPORT
OF THE NNREC CHAIR
John Vinookumar
As
the Chair of NNREC I have attended countless city and county
events to raise our profile and to actively participate at our
local level. In addition I have had the pleasure of representing
this REC at regional and national levels to ensure our voices
and needs are heard. I have attended all meetings of REC Chairs
at the CRE Head Office, London and my input there has been reciprocated
by return visits by CRE Commissioners. I welcomed the Home Secretary鈥檚
of Norfolk good practice examples in his LA action plan following
the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry Report. We concluded the work programme
year with five visits from our local MP and Home Office Minister
Charles Clarke.

This support
and the support of all our MPs in Norfolk is essential. Norfolk
is now more visibly action to tackle racism especially in rural
areas. Let us continue this work to the benefit of all.
My thanks to the Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Sub-committee members,
executive Committee, Full Council and all volunteers. My grateful
thanks to all members of staff for their perseverance, commitment
and hard work. Last but not least, I would like to thank Ms.
Anne Matin for her untiring support to all staff in every aspect.
I am greatly indebted to her for the inestimable help given
to me to carry out the responsibility of Chair to the full.
