Preparing my thoughts for Days Like This has been a lovely experience and has given me an insight into these people who through their selfless actions have had a unique influence on my life and that of my sister, Siobhan. For that we are extremely grateful. It has also helped me feel closer to Rose, the Aunt I never met but whose warm personality lives on still. Find out more

This story is inspired by a need to link the courage of a young 12 year old girl who made a big impact on my life with the 'spirit' of my aunt who died 26 years before I was born. Perhaps she left her benign impression on a day in the life of my sister and I - a day that could have turned out so differently. Read the story
