Where is your band based?

Nottingham

How did the band get together?

We went to the same all boys school, and separately each of us have been writing music since then. It wasn't until we were inspired by a Hull band called Underbelly that we decided to form our own band together.

We sound a bit like...

Tool plus Kyuss divided by the square root of Deftones.

Who are your influences?

There are thousands, and they're different for each of us. But the main ones are; Tool, Radiohead, Faith No More, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine, and some of the greatest guitarists that have ever lived.

Who would be in your dream band?

Rich: Danny Carey, and... Joe Pasquale!

John: Definitely Danny Carey on drums, Maynard Keenan on vocals (with Dallas Green doing harmony vocals.) Jimi Hendrix on clean guitar, Dimebag Darrel and Nuno Bettencourt on stunt guitars, and Cliff Burton on bass.

What would you give up to get signed?

Nothing. That's not one of the reasons we do this. We do it for enjoyment, Numb is our artistic outlet.

Who are the most influential figures in your life?

Star Wars, Transformers, He-Man...

What was your best gig and why?

There was this one gig we played back in Hull... people were dancing right up against the stage so intensely that the front of the stage actually fell off!

I think it was the same night we had this great idea to give away free Mr. T figures during our set. The gig ended with a big pile of people on stage, I mean who doesn't want a Mr. T figure?!

Who are your favourite bands in Nottingham, and why?

There are so many great Nottingham bands. We'd recommend checking out:

Splint, Drag The Lake, Zenith, Illuminatus, Sideshow...

Does Nottingham offer you enough opportunities?

There are a lot of bands here and only so many opportunities. The standard of competition here is so high that you have to have something special to get noticed.
