The Works
is situated on the site of Nottingham's newest entertainment
zone, the Cornerhouse, right in the heart of the city.
As you head
down the steps into the multi-level metal landings inside the
venue, you soon realise this is a nightclub with noise!

The sound
system slams your senses into submission on entering the club's
steel cage.
This style
is pretty standard throughout -- rather than lots of solid walls.
Further
foraging leads into smaller enclaves, all happily groovin' and
weavin' to the diet of full-on hard house.
If your
club culture tastes embrace those pumping euro tunes that sum
up the Ibiza feeling, this is the easiest way to sample it 'sans'
suncream.
Several
of the outfits on show would not have looked out of place on
that particular island either.

The lighting
includes a searing green laser show as seen on special effects
movies such as Independence Day. The mainly 18-to-24-year-olds
in the audience lapped it up.
If you like
your clubs granite and gritty in an interesting industrial kinda
way, make sure you step out in your hard hat and steel toe shoes
for The Works!
