Nottingham’s
new broadcasting channel is preparing to host their third weekend
of live film, performance and audio video mixing.
Moon Radio webTV has already built a big audience for it's events
and has ongoing visitors to their 'Moon Radio WebTV' website.
The site is
beginning to reflect a growing national and international respect
for Nottingham's arts community and creative industries.
Their third showcase of digital arts is called Rose
Tinted TV and will be shown on the 27th and 28th of July.
But what is Moon Radio?
Moon Radio
WebTV is an online space for artists - to explore web broadcast.
Technically, Moon Radio is an audio and video streamed broadcast
project for the Internet.
It is potentially a new medium for artists to create work.

The
website includes features, an editorial about the channel, and the
programmes being shown.
It also includes
a large database of archived films, artworks, performances and a
chat room to say what you think.
The website is a chance for people to see what is new and different
on the cutting edge of new art forms, through the comfort of your
own computer screen.
When was it set up?
Moon Radio webTV
was set up in 2000 by Active Ingredient, a digital arts company.
The event on
the 27th and 28th July will be Moon Radio webTV's third event.
The events explore the transition from the 'smaller screen to the
even smaller screen', twisting traditional TV genres and themes
for a new Internet based audience.
Rose
Tinted TV
Their third weekend will be called 'Rose Tinted TV'. It will look
at history, nostalgia and how TV represents the past.
Moon Radio webTV will be broadcasting a live programme of films,
performances, sound and video mixing from the Broadway's cafe bar.
There will be two newly commissioned works, and members of the public
are invited to participate by joining the live studio audience for
these broadcasts on Saturday 27th July.
There will also be a series of films looking at historical documentary
and other ways of looking back at the glory days.
On Sunday 28th July there will be a live broadcast of sound and
video mixing, creating a club night that is to be broadcast on the
Internet through Moon Radio.
As well
viewing on your computer, there is also an opportunity to view the
programme of new media experimentation at Nottingham’s Broadway
Café Bar on Broad Street.
