The USA are
improving all the time, in recent friendlies they've thrashed Jamaica
and beat World Cup rivals Uruguay.

How
is your country preparing for the World Cup? |
I'm sure
the players will be training hard - they've done quite well
in the last week against Uruguay and Jamaica so whatever it
is they're doing, it's working. 90% of the rest of the country
is doing nothing to get ready. What World Cup?! |
How
do you think England will do in the World Cup? |
They'll
probably do OK - maybe even down to the last 4 - but it's unlikely
unless they get very lucky and the other teams mysteriously
lose all their best players in bizarre gardening accidents.
The US just lost one of their best defenders through injury,
Chris Armas, so they go into it down already - if they just
keep morale up, I think they could be a surprise. |
Who's
your best player and why? |
Josh Wolff
is pretty hot at the moment - he is the fourth U.S. player to
pick up at least two goals in one game in 2002, which sounds
pretty pathetic, but hey, this is the United States Soccer team!
He got two in the back of the net against Jamaica and is a great
team player so he could do very well. Donovan is a good player
too if he gets the ball. |
What
do you think to the England side? |
I'm glad
Beckham will be in the frame to lead the boys. We all need a
little entertainment and David can always give it to us, be
it on his own or with Posh. The glory days of Gazza (and before
him the 66 squad) seem a long way away - but with a player like
Beckham leading the way, the Brits could pack a punch. But as
always, anything can go wrong. |
Where
will you be watching the matches? |
My basement
(over here in the US, everybody watches TV in their basement)
or maybe in the local British pub - I'm hoping the 成人论坛 will
show some of the games, but otherwise ESPN is the main viewing
source. I'd like to say it's World Cup fever over here but sadly,
because it's not the US Womens's soccer side, the fever has
only infected a group of 10 year old schoolboys. Oh well..... |
