C.S.Lewis
was educated at University College, Oxford, where he gained
a first class degree.
In
1925 he became a fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford where
he taught for for 29 years.
His
favourite locations include his favourite pub, The Eagle and
Child, Magdalen College and The Kilns at Lewis Close, Headington
- the house in which he wrote the magical Chronicles of Narnia
between 1948 and 1956. |
Achievements |
The
most popular of C S Lewis聮 series of seven chronicles
is The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Despite
criticism from friends and colleagues about his decision to
write for children, these are the books for which he is best
loved and remembered.

Lewis enjoyed a quiet life during his years in Oxford, meeting
a group of friends dubbed 'the Inklings' weekly in his local
pub. Among them was JRR Tolkien.
