Statement:
My
name is Carl Bartlett, 21 years old. I work as groundsman
at Magdalen College, Oxford. I
look after the deer I do. I'm good with my hands.
Marilyn
is my sister. There's nothing left for me now that she's gone.
She was always such a shining light in my life. We were so
close. I'm going to kill the scum bag that did this to her.
I was so proud of her when she was accepted into Oxford. She
did so well and some monster had to take that away from me.
She was my world. The authorities put me away. My father didn't
want to know me, maybe I was slower than most, maybe I was
an embarrassment. But Marilyn always loved me. She found me.
Together we were complete. My father pretended he didn't know
who I was but I knew, we all knew, and he left me to die,
to drown like a 鈥at in a bag. Marilyn deserved better than
that, she was a princess, he was an ogre. I did my best to
look after her, but I've let her down.
It
was that Professor Highbury that killed her. I've seen the
way he treats people. He's just like her father. He's violent
and he's been in trouble for lashing out. They didn't have
no lessons together but he was always in her room, I've seen
him. Something was going on. That old man's going to pay.
