Statement:
My
name is Rebecca Pallridge. I'm 22 and studying Chemistry at
Oxford University.
Marilyn
was my roommate and friend. With her gone the room feels ever
so empty. It's eerie, really weird. I am just so glad that
I wasn't there when this terrible atrocity took place. I'm
so scared and I can't sleep at night. None of this makes any
sense. I've just tried to lose myself in my work.
She
had a gregarious lifestyle. Marilyn was so wild it almost
seems as if she brought this upon herself. She was always
out with Guy and never knuckled down and did some serious
study. Parties, boys, drink, she even told me she smoked cannabis
once. She was very difficult to live with sometimes.
Who
would want to do this? Well, when Carl turned up things got
very strange. He gives me the creeps, he smelt funny, he was
a real simpleton and the reclusive sort. He got a job here
a few weeks ago and set about harassing Marilyn from day one.
He was obsessed with her. I tried to be there for her but
as ever she turned her back on our friendship.
