Times Guide to Films 2004
"Even
bigger, even better, even more
essential for anyone who loves films" - Barry Norman on the
Radio Times Guide to Films 2004
The
fourth edition of the UK's most comprehensive movie book is published
on Thursday 2 October - the Radio Times Guide to Films 2003.
Completely
revised and updated to include over 500 new reviews, the guide features
authoritative critiques of more than 22,000 titles from a century
of cinema, covering everything from the greatest box office successes
to the embarrassing TV movies that celebrities would rather forget
about.
Each
entry is accompanied by details of cast, characters, directors,
writers and selected technicians as well as an exclusive Radio Times
star rating. The guide also includes family viewing advice, the
year of release, running time, genre and information about availability
on video and DVD.
As
well as the A-Z directory of films, the Radio Times Guide to Films
2004 contains complete indices of actors and directors (now with
birth and, as applicable, death dates) plus a list of alternative
titles and an international awards section with details of the top
winners from the Academy Awards and British Academy Film Awards,
plus the Film Festivals in Cannes and Berlin.
Every
entry can be cross-referenced, so in addition to its five-star review
in the main section, Casablanca is also included within the work
of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the actors' index. It is
listed under Michael Curtiz in the directors' section and makes
the awards appendix, having been named Outstanding Motion Picture
at the Oscars in 1943.
The
book is supported by the fully interactive Radio Times film website,
