Neil Nightingale, the head of the world-renowned ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Natural History Unit, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and was responsible for the multi Emmy award-winning epic Planet Earth, will join participants in Rio de Janeiro to introduce a collection of breathtaking new natural history programming. Leading the list is 10-part blockbuster, Life, which was filmed in high definition and is the definitive exploration of the diversity of life on Earth.

Headlining the history genre is Seven Ages of Rock, which charts the story of rock music from the suburb to the stadium, and from the crackly 45 to the MP3 download.

At the opposite end of the scale, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide will present Infamous Assassinations, which chronicles some of the most notorious assassinations of the 20th Century. From the assassination of John F. Kennedy to the gunning down of Mahatma Gandhi, the tragic shooting of John Lennon to the brutal bombing of one of Hitler's henchmen, each episode focuses on a different story using archival footage and reconstruction.

From drama there's Mistresses, a bold take on modern love, and Sharpe's Peril, a new adventure from the award-winning series Sharpe, starring Sean Bean. History of Climate Change, Oceans and Wild Tales will be available from science, while Beautiful People and The Cup, a series highlighting the competitiveness of a local children's football team, make their debut in the comedy genre.

When buyers are transported into the wonderful world of children's programming, they will discover In the Night Garden, the landmark new show, from the creators of global phenomenon Teletubbies.
