Lonely Planet Magazine and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Knowledge Magazine will be published in Brazil from June 2009, under licence from ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Magazines to Ediouro Duetto Editorial Ltda.
This will be the first international licence for Lonely Planet magazine and the second for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Knowledge magazine. The deal also marks the first partnership between Ediouro and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Magazines.
Lonely Planet Magazine will go on sale on 26 June 2009 and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Knowledge Magazine on 19 June 2009. Both titles will have print runs of 40,000 and a cover price of R$ 10,90 each.
James Hewes, Head of International Development, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Magazines, said: "We are delighted to have agreed these two deals with Ediouro, particularly as it marks the first international licence for Lonely Planet Magazine. We have every reason to expect that both titles will follow the success of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ History magazine ('Historia') which demonstrated that there's a real appetite in Brazil for magazines that deliver specialist factual content in an entertaining and informative way."

Both titles will be edited by Daniel Stycer, who has with 20 years experience in print and digital journalism. Stycer has worked for some of the major media groups in Brazil, such as Jornal do Brasil, IstoÉ Magazine and O Globo (website and newspaper).
Ediouro Holding operates in the Brazilian publishing market, producing books, magazines and also offering printing services. It has 800 employees and is the market share leader in crosswords and puzzle magazines, with nationwide distribution in 30 thousand newsstands. It has over 92 magazine titles, aimed at all age groups.

The 100-page full-colour glossy title offers informative, entertaining and inspirational features on science, history and nature, drawing on the existing portfolio of quality specialist factual titles produced by ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Magazines Bristol, including award-winning popular science title Focus, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ History Magazine and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Wildlife Magazine.

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ History Magazine was licensed to Grupo Domo in Brazil and launched in August 2008 as ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Historia and sells an average of 7700 per issue.
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Magazines publishes over 40 ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ consumer titles, including Top Gear, Good Food, Gardeners’ World and Radio Times and many children’s titles including In the Night Garden, CBeebies Weekly, and Doctor Who Adventures. There are now 44 licensed editions of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Magazines’ titles across 55 territories internationally. ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Magazines is part of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide Limited, the main commercial arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of the British Broadcasting Corporation (³ÉÈËÂÛ̳).
