Teletubbies Live in Australia for the first time at Westfield

Following their successful reunion dance tour in the UK after a break of nearly a decade, the Teletubbies will appear live in Australia in January for the first time ever with a series of free dance events at Westfield Shopping Centres.

³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide Australia has concluded a deal with Showtime Attractions and Westfield for the Teletubbies’ appearances at Westfield Garden City (QLD), Penrith (NSW) and Plenty Valley (VIC), which will kick off on January 4 2010.

The tour marks the furthest the Teletubbies have travelled from the UK.

Promising plenty of interaction, laughter and entertainment, the tour will see the Teletubbies perform their most popular dances in interactive shows running twice daily.

"The Teletubbies are packing plenty of Tubby Custard for their long flight to Australia," said Hannah Laird, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide Australia's Licensing Manager. "We are so pleased to be able to bring this event to Westfield as an Australian first."

Keith Brown, Managing Director of Showtime Attractions, added, "We are proud to have partnered with ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide to bring the Teletubbies to Australia. It's a brand that has a wide appeal not only to pre-schoolers today but to older children who have been enjoying it over the last ten years."

Interest in the Teletubbies, with sales of over 33 million videos and DVDs, has been phenomenal since their 1997 creation.

The charismatic and colourful four have appeared in over 365 television episodes (one for each day of the year), have been seen in more than 120 countries and have won numerous international awards including two BAFTAs.

Tour dates at each venue will be confirmed shortly.
