³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide, Canada today announced the sale of the UK hit talk show, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, to OUTtv for the North American broadcast premiere on February 4, 8:00 pm ET.
Both seasons are an Open Mike production for Channel 4.
Multi-award-winning comedian, Alan Carr, welcomes three celebrity guests to his sofa each program to settle in for a gossip about anything from celebrity fashion faux pas to the most embarrassing moment of the guest's career. Alan's gentle mocking goes both ways and it's usually not long before he and his guests are locked in mutual teasing, much to the delight of the audience. Over the two seasons, Carr is joined by Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Mickey Rourke, Kate Hudson, Miley Cyrus, Samuel L. Jackson, Simon Pegg, Little Britain star David Walliams, The Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding and more.
"We are absolutely thrilled to premiere Chatty Man in North America," said OUTtv COO Brad Danks, "Alan Carr is so funny by himself but combined with such a strong line-up of famous guests we know our audience will love the show."
Alan Carr's inimitable style of self-deprecating humour, camp innuendo and bubbly personality have won him legions of fans both at home and abroad - as proven by his sell-out stand-up tours. Since winning the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ New Comedy Award for Stand-up in 2001, Carr has become one of the hottest comedy stars in Britain and has appeared at comedy festivals all over the world. He has gone on to win multiple awards including British Comedy awards for Best Live Stand up in 2007 and Best Entertainment Personality in 2008. He most recently gained a Royal Television Society award for Entertainment Performance of the Year in 2009.
The deal was brokered by Sandra Murphy, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide, Canada, her first deal since being promoted to Senior Sales Manager, Program Sales. Completing the team is Linda Steele, who was also recently promoted to VP Program Sales & Co-productions, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Worldwide, Canada.
Commenting on the deal with OUTtv Sandra Murphy said, "Working with OUTtv was such a pleasure. Alan Carr has found a great home."
