Shane Richie
won the accolade of Best Soap Actor at the prestigious Golden
Rose awards ceremony in Lucerne, Switzerland.
听
Shane joined EastEnders to play the part of charismatic
Alfie Moon in November 2002.
听
His character has captured the nation's hearts as one
of the most loveable soap stars in TV history, and the romance between
Kat Slater and Alfie Moon captivated viewers for months on end.
听
Shane originally came to EastEnders to audition for
the part of Tom Banks a fireman. The role of Alfie
was created just for him.
听
He has gone on to win a raft of awards since joining
the programme including a National Television Award for most popular
actor in 2003, a TV Quick Award for best actor 2003 and Heat readers
voted him their most favourite actor in 2003.
听
Shane Richie said: "I was chuffed to find out that
I had won the award - I'm calling it my European Bafta!
听
"EastEnders have won so many awards in the last
year and to win in Europe is a dream come true."
听
At the awards, which took place on Saturday (17 April),
there were two other 成人论坛 winners.
听
Little Britain (成人论坛 THREE & TWO), starring
Matt Lucus and David Walliams, won the press prize, and Fur TV
got the award for best pilot.
