On Sunday 17 April 成人论坛 Sport will provide comprehensive live coverage of the Flora London Marathon (成人论坛 ONE, 8.45am-12.50pm and 成人论坛 TWO, 12.50-2.00pm), which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
The 成人论坛 will also be showing a special programme - London
Marathon Heroes (成人论坛 TWO, 5.10pm, Saturday 16 April) - to mark the event's
Silver Jubilee.
There will also be a special highlights programme on
成人论坛 TWO on Sunday 17 April from 6.30-7.20pm.
London Marathon Heroes details stories of human courage
and endeavour, looking at some of the people who have run in the London
Marathon over the previous 24 years.
The Marathon's organisers have assembled the world's top runners to celebrate the landmark anniversary and this, coupled with a new and faster route, could see world records threatened.
The men's elite field includes Olympic Champion Stefano Baldini, World
Champion Jaouad Gharib, New York Marathon winner Hendrik Ramaala and
the World Record holder Paul Tergat.
The field also includes four of the last five London
Marathon champions.
Paula Radcliffe goes for her third London title but
faces stiff competition from a top class field which includes Susan
Chepkemei, Margaret Okayo, Sun Yingjie and Tegla Loroupe.
Sue Barker hosts exclusive, live and uninterrupted television coverage of the event which will follow all the excitement and party atmosphere of one of the world's most prestigious distance running events.
Sue will be joined by Steve Cram, Brendan Foster, Paul Dickenson and Ian Thompson who will provide up-to-the-minute commentary on the elite races, the wheelchair races and the backbone of every London Marathon, the fun runners.
They will be joined by Sally Gunnell
from Tower Bridge and Colin Jackson from Blackfriars
Bridge.
Richard Nerurkar and Peter
Elliott will be following the elite race leaders on motorbikes
as they make their way around the course.
Other reporters on the course are Jill Douglas, Phil Jones and Juliette Ferrington.
