成人论坛 Radio Five Live is inviting budding writers to provide short scripts to be
voiced by the cream of British entertainment on national radio.
听
The scripts for the World Cup Tapes should capture the magic, the mystery, the mayhem of the World Cup.
听
To kick the competition off Johnny Vegas penned his own five minute script about
a factory worker who couldn't get the time off to watch England v Argentina in a
World Cup quarter final.
听
The full Vegas monologue was played on Eamonn Holmes' programme on Saturday 13 May.
听
The poignant five minute piece illustrates the task that writers face in the
competition.
听
The World Cup Tapes will ask listeners to put words in the mouths of three top
actors - Johnny Vegas, Kwame Kwei-Armah and Two Pints of Lager actress Sheridan
Smith.
听
The Five Live audience will be invited to submit short scripts throughout the
tournament for Johnny, Kwame and Sheridan inspired by the emotions and drama of
the World Cup as the competition unfolds.
听
Johnny said: "This is my little effort to help unearth the next brilliant writer
who has to be out there.
听
"Go on enter - if you can't get inspired about the World Cup
when can you?"
听
Listeners will be asked to submit short scripts of no more than five minutes in
length and each week Five Live will select the best monologues, record them with
our star actors and broadcast them as part of Five Live's World Cup coverage.
