An Outlandish kick start to the New Year

成人论坛 Radio 1 and 成人论坛 Asian Network will join together for the first time to broadcast the first UK performance in years from critically-acclaimed Danish export, Outlandish.

The Copenhagen-based Islamic hip-hop group will hit London with their close-to-the-wire lyrics from a global perspective on Wednesday 31 January at Scala, Kings Cross.

Radio 1 and Asian Network DJs Bobby Friction and Nihal will host the gig and invite Asian Network's hip-hop turn-tablist DJ Kayper of The Hype Show (Wednesdays, 10pm, Asian Network) to the fold.

Bobby and Nihal will also be giving away free tickets to lucky winners in the weeks running up to the event.

Mark Strippel, Head of Music and Live Events, Asian Network, said: "Outlandish are priority artists for this station and their outlook as a group means they connect with our listeners.

Neil Wyatt, Radio 1 Executive Producer, Live Events, added: "Radio 1 is committed to bringing the best new music to its audience - and this is going to be a great gig.

"Outlandish are a key act for Bobby Friction and Nihal's listeners and I'm delighted that Radio 1 will link with Asian Network for the first live broadcast to be co-hosted by both networks."
