³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 1 today announced highlights of the station's massive live events calendar for 2007.

This year will see:
- The return of Radio 1's Big Weekend with the addition of a third stage. This is the station's flagship event and the biggest free ticketed festival in Europe.
- A brand new major music event for under-18s to take place in London in November.
- The growth of the highly successful Six Weeks Of Summer with increased audience capacity, bigger stages and new locations both here and abroad. Six Weeks Of Summer sees the station broadcast live from the holiday destinations loved by the audience.
- A series of Radio 1 Presents... featuring exclusive gigs for the station from the hottest artists around – kicking off with Kaiser Chiefs and My Chemical Romance with performances from other major acts to be announced later in the year.

Complementing the station-owned activity, Radio 1 continues its commitment to key musical events: Glastonbury, Leeds Festival, Reading Festival, T In The Park, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Electric Proms, and many more. All of the events will be extensively supported by interactive elements.

New for 2007, the station will come live from Download, the UK's premier rock and metal festival. Plus, specialist music events including Fortdance and Airwaves will be added to the calendar alongside the likes of Sonar and the Miami Music Conference.

Jason Carter, Editor Live Music and Events, Radio 1, said: "This year is shaping up to be amazing. We're going to focus on the events that we've built ourselves and take them to the next level and at the same time continue to broadcast all of the best live music from the UK and internationally."
