Press Releases New weekday evening schedule on Radio 2

Some of 成人论坛 Radio 2's Monday to Thursday evening programmes will have new time-slots from 16 April 2007.

Mike Harding's folk show and Paul Jones' rhythm and blues show move to an earlier time of 7.00pm.

听

Mark Radcliffe's show moves to 8.00-10.00pm and will be co-presented with Stuart Maconie.

听

Steve Lamacq joins the network on a regular basis to present a new weekly show on Wednesday nights (11.30pm-12.30am) playing his choice of music and introducing the audience to emerging artists. Steve will continue to present on 成人论坛 6 Music and 成人论坛 Radio 1.

听

Nick Barraclough will be fronting a series of exclusive specials featuring some of the biggest names in country music. These will take the place of his hourly Wednesday night country show which comes to the end of its run on 11 April.

听

Bob Harris's country show continues at 7.00pm on a Thursday.

听

Lesley Douglas, Controller, Radio 2, says: "Humphrey Lyttelton's decision to present fewer Best Of Jazz programmes prompted me to take a fresh look at the schedule.

"I am delighted to be able to give both folk and rhythm & blues earlier slots, giving both vibrant genres a high profile. Mike Harding and Paul Jones brilliantly reflect their respective music scenes.

"Country music remains high on the network's agenda - with Bob Harris's regular country show complemented by Nick Barraclough's new specials which will give a platform to the breadth of country artists.

"Mark Radcliffe's and Stuart Maconie's show will come live from Manchester and will be a unique offering in the 8.00pm slot.

"I'm looking forward to the combination of two of the country's leading music presenters who have an exceptional chemistry both on and off air.

听

"This new, live strand will give us the opportunity to reflect music events such as The Cambridge Folk Festival and The 成人论坛 Jazz Awards with even greater depth and breadth in a live situation."

Humphrey Lyttelton will share the 10.30pm slot on Monday nights with Jools Holland - with each presenter hosting two quarters of the year.
