Mark Friend, Controller, Multiplatform & Interactive, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Audio & Music,
said: "Including clips of music in our podcasting service allows us to
represent the incredible breadth of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio's output.
Ìý
"We now have a
service that offers highlights of both music and speech programming,
giving listeners a much wider choice of great content to download."
Ìý
Lesley Douglas, Controller, Radio 2, 6 Music and Popular Music, said:
"Music is at the heart of much of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio.
Ìý
"It is an exciting
development that we can now reflect just some of that rich diversity
within our podcasts and give music lovers the chance to sample an even
broader range of music.
Ìý
"The opportunity to reflect the combination of
expert presenters with clips of the music they are showcasing should
benefit both listeners and musicians alike."
Ìý
The ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s podcast service already offers more than 120 speech-only
titles, including The Archers, Best Of Moyles and Russell Brand.

appetite for downloads and their preferred content.
Ìý
A formal podcasting
trial started in May 2005.
Ìý
A full service was launched following the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳
Trust's approval of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ on-demand services in April 2007, after a Public
Value Test. Ìý
