John Barnes dances out of Strictly Come Dancing

John Barnes became the eighth person to be voted off
³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ One's Strictly Come Dancing after failing to impress the judges in the dance off.

Ìý

All the couples danced different numbers again tonight, but once again one of those couples had to leave.

Ìý

It was John and Kelly Brook who found themselves in the bottom two competing in the dance-off.

Ìý

This was John's fifth time in the dance off, with his professional partner Nicole Cutler. Both John and Kelly performed the samba.

Ìý

Of John's first performance, the judges said:

Ìý

Len Goodman said: "I was a tad disappointed after the salsa which was spectacular – I don't think you're putting the work in to fine tune this. Next week you're doing two dances which is double the energy and double the work and I'm not sure on that performance if you're up to two dances." Score: 7.

Ìý

Arlene Phillips: "He's having a love affair with the floor and not you Nicole. I'm not feeling the heat from this partnership. Everything from the waist down works brilliantly on you John but you've got to get this [points to upper body] together. And I'm serious." Score: 6.

Ìý

Bruno Tonioli: "The samba should be your dance. This is what really should suit you, but this is a little bit awry. It was a murmur, it was casual, it didn't have the impact, the fun. It looked like you were rehearsing in the corridor, looking at the floor. Eventually you've got to come out with the goods." Score: 7.

Ìý

Craig Revel Horwood: "I think it did have an enormous amount of energy. I'm slightly concerned that you do continue to look to the floor when we're constantly saying please look up. This is a party dance you can enjoy. Timing – fantastic, but the energy unfortunately is only in your legs and your feet and not in the upper body." Score: 7.

Ìý

John and Nicole scored a total of 27/40 making them bottom of the judges' leader board.

Ìý

But the judges came to a unanimous decision on the dance off.

Ìý

They said:

Ìý

Craig: "No-one in the competition is safe. I have to save the best dancer and that was Kelly and Brendan."

Ìý

Arlene: "Despite a glitch in the choreography, this couple have a chance of winning and that was Kelly and Brendan."

Ìý

Bruno: "It gets harder every week but I have to go for the best dancer who will give more in the future and that's Kelly and Brendan."

Ìý

Len: "I did see a mistake from Kelly but that aside I would save Kelly and Brendan."

Ìý

Viewers were in for a special treat tonight as they saw the remaining celebrities and their professional dance partners performing a Dirty Dancing medley.

Ìý

But it was Kenny Logan and Ola Jordan who ended up performing the famous lift after all the couples tried it in rehearsals.

Ìý

The competition continues next week with the couples having to perform two dances.
