|
Today (Monday 7 January) sees the start of a newly expanded business role for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ presenter and economics and business reporter Declan Curry.
Ìý
Formerly reporting just for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Breakfast, Declan's new role sees him covering up-to-the minute news and developments from the business world for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News – both on screen and online – every weekday morning.
Ìý
Declan continues to begin the day presenting on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Breakfast but will now carry on reporting throughout the morning on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News 24 and for the One O'clock News at lunchtime.
Ìý
The extended times allow Declan to get the inside track on the day's trading as it happens – following up tip-offs and story ideas generated by the business community and reporting back to viewers on breaking stories as they unfold.
Ìý
Declan Curry said: "Morning is when business happens – when major announcements are made, when news breaks and when the big names speak out.
Ìý
"I'll be capturing all the important twists and turns – using ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News 24, the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News website and social networking to keep our audiences right up-to-date.
Ìý
"And I want them to join in the dialogue too – so they can tell me when they want more detail or explanation, and if they think I've got it wrong."
Ìý
Peter Horrocks, Head of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s Multimedia Newsroom, said: "Declan is a hugely popular and respected business presenter. Extending his sharp and entertaining work across two ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ channels and the web will provide a valuable enhancement to our growing business audience."
Ìý
Viewers can now keep up with the very latest business and stock market news all morning – whether watching TV at home or watching online while working at their desks via the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ News 24 streaming service.
