Radiohead At The ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳
|
Radiohead will be very special guests at the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ on Tuesday 1 April when listeners can enjoy unprecedented access to one of Britain's most innovative bands – including a very special live performance for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 2.
Ìý
The band will record a series of interviews for ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 1, Radio 2 and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ 6 Music before Mark Radcliffe introduces an intimate performance live from the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio Theatre on Radio 2 from 8.00pm.
Ìý
Radio 2 is giving away 75 pairs of tickets to see Radiohead in the Radio Theatre, several months before the band kick off their UK tour in London's Victoria Park. For details of how to apply for tickets visit bbc.co.uk/radio2.
Ìý
Phone lines open at 9.00pm on Monday 10 March and close at 10.00pm on Thursday 13 March but subsequent ticket giveaways for a shorter matinee performance will take place on Radio 1 and 6 Music. Further announcements will follow on both radio stations.
Ìý
This is not the first time the Oxford quintet have made their presence felt on the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ airwaves – they curated a week of programmes on 6 Music back in 2003 and deputised for Zane Lowe on Radio 1 earlier this year – but this daytrip to the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ will ensure a wealth of exclusive content for music fans to enjoy.
Ìý
Radio 2's Head of Music Jeff Smith said: "I am greatly looking forward to 1 April – you'd be a fool to miss it – and the participation of three radio networks in this ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ initiative should help us go some way to satisfying the appetites of Radiohead's huge following."
