Radio Manchester having a laugh with latest appointment

Actor and comedian John Thomson is to get his own show on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio
Manchester, it was announced today.

The celebrated Cold Feet and Fast Show star will front a regular
Saturday slot between 11.00am and 1.00pm from 12ÌýApril.
Ìý
His appointment comes as the station rejigs its early evening and
weekend schedules with new programmes and presenters.
Ìý
John has guest presented at the station a number of times
before and this week is co-presenting the breakfast show.
Ìý
He says: "I'm greatly looking forward to it. There's already a buzz amongst
my friends and I'm planning a unique and highly entertaining two
hours on a Saturday that people will look forward to."
Ìý
Other schedule changes, which come into effect from Monday 7 April
2008, will see Becky Want's weekday show extended an hour (2.00 to 5.00pm)
and the nightly news and sports show, Manchester Now, with Steve
Saul running from 5.00 to 6.00pm.
Ìý
Sam Walker takes over from Phil Wood on the late show, Sunday to
Thursday, 10.00pm to 1.00am, while Andy Crane will present a new programme on
location in Salford Quays, every Sunday from noon to 2.00pm.
Ìý
Terry Christian leaves his weekday show but will continue to
present his late night weekend show, Manchester Music, every
Saturday, 9.00pm to midnight.

Managing Editor John Ryan says: "It is fantastic to have John
Thomson joining us as the relaunched ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio Manchester marks its
second birthday.
