Nigel Harman joins cast of Hotel Babylon

Carnival Films and the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ have announced that actor Nigel Harman will join the cast for the fourth series of the hit ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ One drama Hotel Babylon, which will transmit in 2009.

Nigel Harman (EastEnders, Lark Rise To Candleford, City Of Vice) plays charismatic businessman Sam Franklin who will set pulses racing as he checks into Hotel Babylon.

Little does he know that his ex-wife Juliet, played by Anna Wilson-Jones (Ashes To Ashes, Time Of Your Life), has been newly appointed as Babylon's General Manager.

Franklin learns that Babylon is to be sold. As the day unfolds and some disturbing events threaten the hotel's equilibrium, he decides to take matters into his own hands. Several phone calls later, Sam Franklin is the new owner of Hotel Babylon – much to his ex-wife's annoyance.

Hotel Babylon is commissioned by Jane Tranter, Controller of ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Fiction, and Sarah Brandist, Commissioning Editor, Independent Drama.

Also returning to Hotel Babylon are the regular staff: the ever-helpful Concierge Tony played by Dexter Fletcher, Head Receptionist Anna played by Emma Pierson, Bar Manager Gino played by Martin Marquez, Head of PR Emily played by Alexandra Moen, Food and Beverage Manager James played by Ray Coulthard and Receptionist Ben played by Michael Obiora.

The new series of Hotel Babylon is produced by Polly Williams and directed by Andy Hay and Jim Loach. The executive producers are Gareth Neame and Christopher Aird for Carnival Films and Eleanor Moran for the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳.
